Therapists at Inspire Therapy

Medical/Allied Health Practitioner Melissa

Melissa

I am a Senior Speech and Language Therapist from Australia. I moved to Dubai in October 2017 from a regional country town in Australia. I completed my Speech Pathology training at the Universtiy of Sydney in 1997.

My career has been varied across a range of Speech Pathology areas. I have worked in a variety of locations in Australia and in the UK. In the early stages of my career, I worked with paediatric clients in schools and clinic settings running early language groups and providing individual therapy. More recently I have specialized in establishing and enhancing stroke services within rural Australia. I have a strong interest in improving access to Speech Pathology services and promoting evidence based practice across the spectrum of communication disorders. I have specific training in the Lindamood Seeing Stars program to support children to establish ways to improve reading and spelling and have done a number of courses in early language development.

My current role within Inspire Therapy is to provide services to children within schools who require Speech and Language input. I have a passion for working with children to enhance their communication and reduce the barriers they may face due to communication impairment. I enjoy the challenge of working with a variety of difficulties including articulation, phonology, receptive and expressive language difficulties, reading and social difficulties.

I am a mother to 3 mostly gorgeous children who keep me busy 24 hours a day! This first hand experience juggling the everyday challenges with a young family helps to ensure my suggestions and advice to parents is not only grounded in evidence but also practicalities!

When I am not running around after my children and being a taxi from one activity to the next,  I really enjoy being active either outdoors at the beach or the pool, relaxing with good food and on the rare occasions reading a good book with some Ed Sheeran in the background or watching a romantic comedy with a glass of wine.  I love to keep fit running, swimming and cycling and have a goal to do some Triathlons while I am in Dubai!

Medical/Allied Health Administrator Syeda Zainab

Syeda Zainab

I'm a Registered Behavior Technician. I'm originally from Islamabad, Pakistan. I have grown up and lived in Dubai all my life. I graduated with a BSc Hons in Psychology with Counselling Skills from Middlesex University Dubai in 2017.

I have always been passionate about working with children and I feel there is no greater satisfaction for me than seeing children progress as I believe every child has the potential to achieve success in their academics alongside their personal lives and therefore it is important to create an environment for them which nurtures them to be happy and become proactive members of the society they live in. My interest led me to learn more about ABA Therapy. I completed the Registered Behaviour Technician course with Inspire Therapy and am currently working as an ABA Therapist since September 2019.

I have previously worked as an Learning Support Assistant from 2018 to 2019.  I was primarily involved with supporting two wonderful children facing difficulties related to learning, attention and focus and also presented behavioural problems. My role consisted of helping in the classroom and implementing ABA techniques to support their ability to access the curriculum.

Previously, I have worked as a Student Learning Assistant at Middlesex University Dubai with Dr.Lynda Hyland wherein I assisted the lecturer in delivering statistical analyses and thematic analysis to undergraduate students alongside SPSS workshops to MA HRM students.

In my spare time, I enjoy walks at the beach and playing sports such as volleyball and baseball. On odd weekends, you could also find me in the kitchen baking as I love preparing treats for my family and friends!

Medical/Allied Health Administrator Shweta

Shweta

Hello! I am Shweta Coelho a Registered Behavior Technician from Mumbai, India. Dubai has been home since 2009. I work as an ABA therapist with Inspire Therapy.

Being ABA trained, I have worked as a learning support assistant in the past, nurturing and guiding nonverbal children with challenging behavior issues and learning difficulties.  This in turn helped me discover my passion for the field. I believe in focusing on the unique talents and abilities of our children and it gives me immense joy to watch them develop and acquire new skills one baby step at a time.

Being creative and patient I enjoy working with children and a personal experience with my child has helped me understand the challenges that parents face through this journey.

I strongly believe that every child can learn if we adapt our teaching to suit the child’s individual learning style and preference.

My hobbies include travelling to different countries: soaking in the culture and baking beautifully decorated cakes.

Medical/Allied Health Administrator Vineeta

Vineeta

Hello, I’m Vineeta. I was born and raised in Dubai, U.A.E., where I completed my BSc in Psychology (Honors) from Middlesex University. I work as a Registered Behavior Technician at Inspire Therapy.

Since 2017, I’ve volunteered to work with children of mixed age groups at different events. The knowledge and skills gained through this experience enabled me to find my passion in helping children with autism and cognitive disabilities overcome their difficulties and challenges.
Seeing the children I work with progress and become independent individuals brings me great joy!

My dream is to set up an NGO where I can help underprivileged families gain access to speech/language and behavioral therapy for their children.

I enjoy outdoor activities (when the weather in Dubai is pleasant) and also have a fond interest in football, movies, and music.

Medical/Allied Health Administrator Ann

Ann

I have always loved helping people. This desire led me to get a Bachelors and Master’s degree in Social Work with a specialisation in Family and Child Welfare. While studying, I was given the opportunity to work with children, women and families. I got to assist in counselling families, observe therapy sessions with burn survivors, trauma patients and work with juvenile offenders.

My experience led me to working with a non-governmental organisation that works to promote deceased organ donation. Seeing a grieving situation turn into someone getting a second chance in life is priceless.

During my time in working with children, I was involved in understanding their cause for behaviours, analysing their family background, developing plans that would find new methods to build their interest in education and reduce negative behaviours.

I have been passionate about helping children with various needs, hence when I moved to Dubai from India, it led me to learn about ABA Therapy. I worked as a Learning Support Assistant; I then received my Registered Behaviour Technician certificate and I am currently working as an ABA Therapist.

Medical/Allied Health Administrator Sarah

Sarah

Hi, I'm Sarah. I'm from Mayo in the West of Ireland. I am BCBA at Inspire.

I completed a MSc in ABA in Bangor University in Wales in 2012. After that, I worked in Ireland as an ABA tutor on home programs mainly. Then I moved to London where I worked as an ABA tutor and a Case Manager. I have been living and working in Dubai for the last 2 and a half years.

The bulk of my experience is in developing and delivering verbal behaviour programs. I love watching the children I work with develop and expand on their interests and play skills and using their motivation to teach them skills that will enable them to be more independent and to access increased opportunities.

My favourite films change all the time. At the moment, I would say Bohemian Rhapsody. I like listening to Motown, The Beatles, as well as 90's and 00's music for the nostalgia! I think my favourite place would have to be my back garden in Mayo on a sunny summers day making an attempt at a barbecue!

Having a child with special needs was very overwhelming for my family. I wanted to better support my child and this led me down the pathway of ABA therapy.
I enjoy supporting children in using their skills in the natural environment. I worked as a learning support assistant in Dubai for two years prior to completing my RBT certification.
