Kavi Hutchinson

Occupational Therapist

I graduated from LaTrobe University (Australia) with a Bachelor's in Health Sciences and Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy Practice. Following graduation I worked as an Occupational Therapist in Australia providing therapy to children with limited access to services,  working with children aged up to 18 years and young adults with a variety of diagnoses including Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Sensory Processing Disorder, ADHD/ADD, Hearing Impairments, Dyspraxia and Learning delays.

My passion lies in school inclusion and vocational education and training. I have worked, both in Australia and the UAE in the area of pediatric Occupational Therapy. My roles have involved collaborating with schools, parents and special needs centres to work on school readiness skills and in inclusion programs. I have also provided consultancy services to schools and special needs centres, providing support and training for therapists, teachers and parents.

I have previously worked for many years as a Disability Support Worker with young adults in vocational and transitional services. This interest continued post-graduation as an Occupational therapist, working on the development of life skills, employability skills and independent living skills for adolescents and young adults, having developed programs for vocational training.

With over 10 years experience in the field, I am passionate in advocating for the inclusion, education and integration of individuals of determination. I also recently completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Special Education and am a Certified Sensory Integration therapist.
