Melissa Gill

Melissa Gill

I am a Senior Speech and Language Therapist from Australia. I moved to Dubai in October 2017 from a regional country town in Australia. I completed my Speech Pathology training at the Universtiy of Sydney in 1997.

My career has been varied across a range of Speech Pathology areas. I have worked in a variety of locations in Australia and in the UK. In the early stages of my career, I worked with paediatric clients in schools and clinic settings running early language groups and providing individual therapy. More recently I have specialized in establishing and enhancing stroke services within rural Australia. I have a strong interest in improving access to Speech Pathology services and promoting evidence based practice across the spectrum of communication disorders. I have specific training in the Lindamood Seeing Stars program to support children to establish ways to improve reading and spelling and have done a number of courses in early language development.

My current role within Inspire Therapy is to provide services to children within schools who require Speech and Language input. I have a passion for working with children to enhance their communication and reduce the barriers they may face due to communication impairment. I enjoy the challenge of working with a variety of difficulties including articulation, phonology, receptive and expressive language difficulties, reading and social difficulties.

I am a mother to 3 mostly gorgeous children who keep me busy 24 hours a day! This first hand experience juggling the everyday challenges with a young family helps to ensure my suggestions and advice to parents is not only grounded in evidence but also practicalities!

When I am not running around after my children and being a taxi from one activity to the next,  I really enjoy being active either outdoors at the beach or the pool, relaxing with good food and on the rare occasions reading a good book with some Ed Sheeran in the background or watching a romantic comedy with a glass of wine.  I love to keep fit running, swimming and cycling and have a goal to do some Triathlons while I am in Dubai!

I joined the Inspire Therapy team in January 2016. My current role is to support children with a range of speech, language and communication support needs in mainstream school settings. I am passionate about identifying and overcoming barriers to communication in learning environments, therefore in addition to direct therapy intervention, I support parents and school staff to integrate functional therapy targets into every day activities/environments where possible.

I have lived in Dubai for four years and I have two children aged six and four that keep me busy! When we are not at school or working you’ll find us at the pool or beach!

Vinolia Ranjith

Vinolia Ranjith

I graduated with a bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy in 2008 from KMCH college in India. Since then I have worked in a hospital setting, neuro-rehabilitation units, child developmental clinics and in school settings gaining experience in India, the Caribbean and in Dubai. I have worked with a broad range of diagnoses.

I am passionate about working with children and I strongly believe “play and movement” is the basis for development of all skills a child needs to be successful at school and socially. This plays a very central role in my therapy. I also believe in a child centered approach working closely with a child’s family to help bring out their full potential.

I have a special interest in sensory integration especially the vestibular system and supporting children in the school environment.

Malika Amirsaidova

Malika Amirsaidova

I graduated from the Tashkent Medical Institute of Paediatrics (Uzbekistan) and following my clinical internship qualified as a GP Paediatrician. Later, I graduated from the Middlesex University Dubai with MSc in Applied Psychology. Soon after my graduation I joined Inspire Therapy where I studied and qualified as a Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT). I am currently pursuing my Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) qualification.

My prior work experience covers various professional engagements with “Médecins Sans Frontières” (“Doctors Without Borders”), Red Crescent Society of Uzbekistan and other institutions.

Having medical and psychological academic backgrounds, currently pursuing professional studies in behavioural analysis and being a mother of four children I strongly believe that behavioural and developmental support is as important as any medical treatment.

Although all children have different personalities and levels of development and performance, all children are equal in their right and aspiration to live productive, meaningful and happy lives. I am delighted to be part of the Inspire Therapy team, to work with children with special needs and witness them making small, yet ground-breaking steps towards becoming socially adaptive and interactive members of our society, towards living a healthier and happier life.

There is so much in life that gives us faith!

Maha Syeda Maheen

Maha Syeda Maheen

I’m Maha and I’m from India. I am a registered behavior technician and completed my training in March 2017. I am a patient person and enjoy working with children with various difficulties. It is extremely rewarding to find a child’s strengths and help them develop these areas. I work on a one to one basis with clients across various settings to develop language, academic, social, and self-help skills.

I am currently completing a Bachelors Degree in Social Work.

My interest in working with special needs children came about because of my own situation. My daughter is six years old and has a learning difficulty. Having a child with special needs was very overwhelming for my family. I wanted to better support my child and this led me down the pathway of ABA therapy.
I enjoy supporting children in using their skills in the natural environment. I worked as a learning support assistant in Dubai for two years prior to completing my RBT certification. I worked with children of different ages and abilities as part of this role. I enjoy attending workshops on supporting behaviour in Dubai. I love to be a part of any group where I can share my experiences and learn.

Jo Adams

Jo Adams

Originally from Lichfield in the West Midlands, UK, I moved to the Middle East early in 2015. I started my BSc Psychology with the Open University In 2010 from which I graduated in 2015. Following my graduation alongside starting a new life as an expat, I took time out to have and raise my 3 young girls. Fast forward 4 years and with the desire to begin a career, coupled with an off-chance meeting with a colleague, I spent time researching Applied Behavior Analysis, leading me to complete the Registered Behavior Technician qualification here at Inspire Therapy. This course sparked something in me that I never realized was there and I discovered that this is what I was meant to be working towards all along! Upon completion of my MSc Psychology which I am currently studying with the University of Derby, I intend to complete further qualifications to become a BCBA.

In my spare time, I enjoy relaxing and spending quality time with my husband and girls. My next goal in life is to run a marathon (although not anytime soon!)

Hi, I'm Sarah. I'm from Mayo in the West of Ireland. I am BCBA at Inspire.

I completed a MSc in ABA in Bangor University in Wales in 2012. After that, I worked in Ireland as an ABA tutor on home programs mainly. Then I moved to London where I worked as an ABA tutor and a Case Manager. I have been living and working in Dubai for the last 2 and a half years.

The bulk of my experience is in developing and delivering verbal behaviour programs. I love watching the children I work with develop and expand on their interests and play skills and using their motivation to teach them skills that will enable them to be more independent and to access increased opportunities.

My favourite films change all the time. At the moment, I would say Bohemian Rhapsody. I like listening to Motown, The Beatles, as well as 90's and 00's music for the nostalgia! I think my favourite place would have to be my back garden in Mayo on a sunny summers day making an attempt at a barbecue!

I am Romanian born and since leaving Romania almost twenty years ago, I’ve lived in the UK for twelve years, Egypt for two years and Dubai for more than five years.  My husband is South African and our daughter is a ‘third-culture kid’, born in Dubai. The concept of home and the answer to the question 'where I'm from' have therefore become a little blurred.

I have a BSc Honours in Social Sciences with Psychological Studies from the Open University in the UK and I am TEFL certified. With the exception of the two years spent in Cairo, where I worked as an ESL teacher and tutor, I have a solid background in business support, having spent most of my professional life supporting various businesses and being exposed to a wide range of industries and services such as project management and cost consultancy back in the UK, and not-for-profit organizations, global recruitment agencies and HR consultancies since moving to the Middle-East.

I joined Inspire Therapy in December 2018 as an Office/ Centre Manager and it truly is an inspiring place to work in. The team is great and the work they deliver is incredibly meaningful to the children we support and their families.

I’ve always been passionate about writing, photography and creative content and they are the main things I enjoy doing in my spare time.
