My name is Jemma and I am a paediatric speech and language therapist from the UK. I have 9 years experience working in both public and private practice. The majority of my clinical work has been delivering comprehensive speech and language therapy within schools, centres and nurseries in the UK. My experience includes working with children with attention and listening difficulties,  speech delays/disorders, language delays/disorders, social communication difficulties and children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

I am passionate about working with children who have communication difficulties, and believe in building their confidence, and finding motivating and creative ways to engage them so that they are able to  achieve their maximum potential.  I carry out assessments and intervention with the child at its core , and build positive relationships with families, school staff and other professionals to ensure a collaborative team approach.

Developing and updating my knowledge and skills as a practitioner is important to me, and I welcome opportunities to learn about new research and interventions. Some of the training I have attended includes Makaton, Cued Articulation, Colourful Semantics and the Shape Coding Model.  I have experience in working from the Nuffield Dyspraxia programme, The Social Thinking Curriculum, TEACCH and Attention Autism.

I was awarded a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Speech and Language Therapy in 2010, at City University London. Since I have obtained registrations with the Health and Care Professions Council and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists in the UK

I moved to Dubai in 2018 and enjoying living life here. When I am not working I enjoy going to the gym and socialising with friends.
