Medical/Allied Health Administrator Maha

Maha

I’m Maha and I’m from India. I am a Senior ABA therapist and have been working with children between the ages 2.5 years - 16 years since 2017. I am a patient person and enjoy working with children with various difficulties. It is extremely rewarding to find a child’s strengths and help them develop these areas. I work on a one to one basis with clients across various settings to develop language, academic, social, and self-help skills.

I have worked with children having various difficulties and concerns from ADHD to Down Syndrome, ASD and Autism. I also worked with students having other concerns like learning difficulties and behavioral issues. I have always worked using child-centric approach and have always tried to collaborate and get on board everyone working with the children at home and at school.

I have a Bachelors Degree in Social Work and I am pursuing my Masters in Special Education Needs with a concentration in ABA from University of Texas.

I also hold a position of Inclusion Governor in North American International School, Dubai since 2018. In this role I volunteer and try to give back to the community by promoting Inclusion and providing trainings to mainstream teachers and learning support assistants.

My interest in working with special needs children came about because of my own situation. My daughter is six years old and has a learning difficulty. Having a child with special needs was very overwhelming for my family. I wanted to better support my child and this led me down the pathway of ABA therapy.
I enjoy supporting children in using their skills in the natural environment. I worked as a learning support assistant in Dubai for two years prior to completing my RBT certification. I worked with children of different ages and abilities as part of this role. I enjoy attending workshops on supporting behaviour in Dubai. I love to be a part of any group where I can share my experiences and learn.
